Village Solutions

A beautiful, sustainable community does not have to be a new one. With the right vision and the right people, even the most distressed existing community can be transformed.

Source Communities with neighborhoods and communities that wish to create a commons for the purpose of enjoying the benefits and efficiencies of shared amenities and utilities at the village scale.

While village is a somewhat vague term, we use it to describe a community of a few dozen to up to 250 or so people. This scale has many natural benefits that larger or smaller communities do not.

While it is possible to create a fully sustainable stand-alone home, it is not very efficient, andn it is pretty lonely. Larger scale communities tend to dilute the personal connections that are so key to true community. Additionally, community organizations at the village level are far more responsive to the real life local concerns of a community, as opposed to some person trying to represent 435,000 people 3000 miles away from them. Even the most honest and dedicated public servant would be challenged to do so with such circumstances.
