WELCOME TO SOURCE DESIGNS Source Designs is a San Diego based residential design firm specializing in green architecture and sustainable design for custom homes. We offer complete project service, from predesign and schematic through permit processing and home construction. We synthesize several design philosophies, including sustainable design, to create exceptional custom home designs with beauty and depth. Please visit our Portfolio for examples of our work. Owner and founder Millard Nathan Arterberry, Jr. was born and raised in San Diego. He graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995. After interning with Christopher Alexander and working at Bayfront Architecture in Berkeley, Millard returned to San Diego, where he has worked in several residential and light commercial architectural firms. His project experience includes high end custom residential, tract homes, multifamily, historic homes and museums. In 2006, after years of interest in green architecture, Millard became LEED accredited by the Unites States Green Building Council. In January of 2007, he dedicated himself fulltime to the growth of Source Designs. PHILOSOPHY Source Designs is the result of a long search to understand the nature of beauty and order, and the processes which create them. In exploring the holistic design philosophy of Christopher Alexander, the organic architectural school of Frank Lloyd Wright and Feng Shui, the design voice of Source Designs slowly emerged, one that is inextricably tied to beauty and spirit. The application of sustainable design techniques add a crucial depth and utility to all our designs. The new building systems and methods of sustainable design has the opportunity to revolutionize the look and livability of homes.
