Creations was founded on a very simple principle: a beautiful, harmonious home environment is conducive to a beautiful, harmonious life. We have over 30 years of combined experience in home design among our founders, and we truly believe in the sustainable lifestyle. We also believe that the rigorous pursuit of efficiency cannot and must not sacrifice aesthetics. After a lifelong study of design, including Feng Shui, Organic Architecture, and the groundbreaking work in pattern study by my former professor Christopher Alexander, I have arrived at the inescapable conclusion that the deepest design combines sustainable considerations with space sculpting, which is in fact simply using all of the facets of home design to positively affect the flow of subtler energy, or chi, in a given space.

These ideas sound theoretical and mystical, but they are in fact very practical, very real, and are an intrinsic part of any true art. A quick exaggerated example will illustrate the point.

Imagine yourself in a square room, 20 feet by 20 feet, with white walls and a 10 foot ceiling. How do you feel in that room? Chances are you feel neutral, or at rest. Any bilaterally symmetrical shape, like a square, is in stasis, and we can all feel it, even when we are not aware of it. Now imagine yourself in a long rectangular room, say 10 feet by 100 feet. How does that feel? There is no rest there. The wall literally channel the chi, forcing it to go fast and making you feel like you should do the same. Our sense of this energy flow was pushed to the side a long time ago, but it is slowly reemerging as more and more seek to find real value with our disposable income. Your home's design and your furniture and decorations have an important effect upon your well being, and taken as a whole, the way we build those homes has an important effect upon our planet.

We have used the western mystical tradition's five elements to categorize our home accessories. These elements - Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit - are not the literal water and dirt and fire, but subtler energies closely related to their counterparts in the three dimensional world. This conception of the world has a tradition going back at least 2500 years, and is linked to what is considered to be a very powerful means of manifesting one's desires.

The more fundamental rule of manifestation is the Law of Attraction, and The Secret expounded on that far better than I could do. In my opinion the system that we use to manifest (a fancy way of saying get what we want) is to a large degree a matter of taste, but I think that is important we all actively engage in creating our world to our tastes through the Law of Attration. Create the vision, remind yourself of the vision daily, and enjoy. Rinse and repeat.

That having been said, working with the idea of relating everyday items to powerful natural forces is actually a lot of fun, and really turbocharges your ability to manifest. When we are able to break down the immensity of our world into smaller parts, it is a bit easier to manage.
